October 18, 2018 Section 117:1-7 Obedience, Do it Do it Now, Follow the Prophet, Draw Near Unto Him, Endure to the End, Interesting background here:             “This revelation in the D&C is the first of four revelations that were all given to the Prophet Joseph Smith on 8 July 1838 at Far West, Missouri. Smith and Sjodhal Commmentary says: ‘The Lord had commanded the Saints to gather and build up Far West speedily (115:17). A company of 515 souls, known as the Kirtland Camp left Kirtland on the 6 th of July 1838 for Zion. On the 14 th of Sept, it appears only 260 members were left, the other having been scatterred ‘to the four winds’ . The camp arrived in Adam-ondi-Ahman on the 4th of October. Netiher Marks, Whitney, nor Granger were members of this company. [Granger was already in Far West. October 15, 2018 Section 115: 8-10 Do it Do it Now, Unity, Obedience, Follow the Prophet, Gird Up Your Loins, Service, Ministering, I’ve had some computer troubles and thought I had lost much of this scripture journal, but I only lost 1 day. So today, for the second time, I will study the last part of section 115. And I’m am doing that because it brought a new insight to me as I read it. I will try to recapture those thoughts. The Lord is speaking to a people who have joined the church, have made a long move to the edge of civilization, who have built communities in Jackson County Missouri, and who have been forced out of their home and to a new place where they will start, once again to build and to settle. Did they do everything right through all of these difficult journeys? No. They were prideful within and without church communities. They were sometimes stingy in how they obeyed commandments. June 20, 2017 Section 44:1-6 General Conference, Gemma, Members of the Church Duties Of, Ward Spirit Of, Welcome, Kindness to All, Do It Do It Now, Obedience, The Lord requires that Joseph Smith call another all Church conference. This will be the 4 th such conference. The first 3 were held in Fayette, New York. This one will be held in Ohio. The Lord says that “ it is expedient in me” to call everyone together “ from the east and from the west, and from the north and from the south” (v1).
