February 7, 2019 Official Declaration 2 Priesthood and Temple Blessings Extended to All, Prophets, Revelation, Plan of Salvation, Eternal Life and Eternal Growth, Testimony, Draw Near Unto Me, I hadn’t realized this before, but the reason for not allowing the priesthood, or the temple ordinances, to extend to all people was based on Abraham 1:21-27. The revelation that was sought, and that was given to President Kimball and the apostles, was that all the blessings and all the obligations of the gospel, including the priesthood and the blessings of the house of the Lord, would be extended to those of every nation, culture, and race. October 29, 2018 Section 121:26-46 Testimony, Loss of Faith, Revelation Still Guides the Church, Callings in the Church, Promises of Performing Pure Service, Service Rewards, Growth and Development, Eternal Growth, I re-read a quote from the student manual when I sat down today. It is from George Q Cannon and he is speaking about how people who once believed fall away: “ The Saints should not imagine that because they know the truth and the Work of God at the present time, that they will alsways know these things and therefore be able to stand. If they lose the Holy Spirit throught their transgressions, from that moment theier knowledge respecting he Work of God ceases to increase and becomes dead: a short time only elapses before such persons deny the faith. ” I don’t know if we can steriotype how people decided to leave the church. April 26, 2018 Section 93:1 Testimony,   My Testimony, Historically this section was given 3 years after the church was organized. The saints were gathered in two main places: Kirtland, Ohio and Jackson County, Missouri. The School of the Prophets was well organized in Kirtland and was a place of learning and revelation. And the saints in Jackson County were working to prepare a place for all the members of the church. But this was also the time that there were many problems and then mobs began to gather to persecute the saints in Jackson County. In members of the church apostatized in both areas, and turned against their former leaders. And this was the time the Lord revealed section 93. V 1 delineates the path to KNOWING the Lord. It is a beautiful promise to people everywhere: “ …every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am.” ...

June 27, 2017 Section 46:11-33 Spiritual Gifts, Holy Ghost, Missionary Gifts, Wisdom, Knowledge, Testimony, Discernment of Spirit, Gift of Tongues, Section 46 is one of the places I look when I want to know about spiritual gifts. P 100 has a great quote from Elder Orson Pratt: “ whenever the Holy Ghost takes up its residence in a person, it not only cleanses, sanctifies, and purifies him, in proportion as he yields himself to its influence, but also imparts to him some gift, intended for the benefit of himself and others.
