3/1/2018 - Section 88:14-16

March 1, 2018 Section 88:14-16 Soul of Man, SOS, Resurrection, Redemption, Sacrament Ponders, Earth’s Purpose, I love reading the synopsis of the section. For v’s 14-16 it says “ The resurrection comes through redemption”— that phrase in itself is a grand lesson! V 14 states a truth that I believe with all my heart and mind: “ through the redemption which is made for you is brought to pass the resurrection of the dead”   On Sundays during the sacrament I find myself settling in to mostly ponder the atonement, and how I do and should access it, and my gratitude for that amazing and wonderful gift of love. But then I listen as they pronounce the blessing on the bread, and I realize I need to be much more consciously grateful for the gift of resurrection that I, too often, just accept as a fact of life. The older I get, the more reason I see to be more grateful, and express that gratitude. V 15 defines the word soul: “ and the spirit and the body are...

1/12/2018 - Section 76:81-118

January 12, 2018 Section 76:81-118 Three Degrees of Glory, Resurrection, Holy Ghost Personal Tutor, This last part of section 76 describes the sequence of the resurrection. It describes the three degrees of glory, and those who will inhabit each kingdom of heaven. It speaks of the great glory of each one of these places. It speaks of the fairness of the Father, and of His great love for all. And I am comforted knowing that I ...

1/10/2018 - Section 76:36-53

January 10, 2018 Section 76:36-53 Sons of Perdition, Christ as our Savior, Earth Purpose Of, Resurrection, Resurrection of the Just, Millennium, Perfection It is interesting to me, after many verses concerning the rare number of people who will become Sons of Perdition-- thus forever be excluded from redemption-- the scriptures plainly state what acts people must perform to become Sons of Perdition. The must deny Christ AFTER have been given a SURE knowledge of Him. Even with all this information concerning the Sons of Perdition (that’s not many people), but the scriptures still leave room for several questions. Just as I started to form those questions in my mind, I read verse 40 which, after speaking of the sad state of the Sons of Perdision, reminds us of the entire purpose for this earth and the results of this endeavor for the rest of us: “ And this is the gospel, the glad tiding, which the voice out of heavens bore record unto us” and then the following verses speak of C...
