Section 59:8-13
Keep the Commandments, Obedience Blessings Of; Heart Might Mind and Soul, Eye Single to My Glory, Ten Commandments 2.0, Serve the Lord, Missionaries Stand a Little Taller, Serve With All Your Heart, Might, Mind & Strength,

Continuing on with section 59, nicknamed ““That thou Mayest More Fully Keep Thyself Unspotted from the World”

V 8 commands us: “Thou shalt offer a sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in righteousness, even that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit.” The Smith and Sjodahl Commentary states “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: ‘a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise’ (Psalm 51:17); a broken spirit and a contrite heart are those in which the obstinacy of pride has been replaced by the humility of repentance, frequently brought about by sorrow and affliction.”

As I continue reading in this section, the Lord seems to be covering the 10 Commandments with a bit more explanation:
V’s 5, 8: Thou shalt have no other gods before me --v 5: Love the Lord thy God with all
Thy might, mind and strength, and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt
serve him. ) (v 8: Thou shalt offer a sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in righteousness, even that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit.)
V’s 9, 12, 13: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (v 9: …Keep thyself unspotted
from the world, thou shalt go to the house of prayer and offer up thy sacraments
            upon my holy day.)
V 6: thou shalt not kill
V 6: thou shalt not commit adultery…nor do anything like unto it
v 6: thou shalt not steal
v 6 thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor…though He went further by
saying “thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”

And the neatest thing is that each of the verses contribute to the others. That’s how obedience to the Lord’s commandments works.

P 127, President John Taylor: To serve the Lord, is one of the great objects of our existence;….If we sing praises to God, let us do it in the proper spirit; if we pray, let every soul be engaged in prayer, doing it with all our hearts, that through our union our spirits may be blended in one, that our prayers and our worship may be available with God, whose Spirit permeates all things, and is always present in the assemblies of good and faithful Saints.”
