Section 101:17-22
Wayward Children, Pure in Heart, Lord’s Promises, Joy, Temple Sealings, Prayer, Friendships, Relationships with the Lord and with others, Draw Near Unto Him.

My study starts this morning with two beautiful verses, that I hope to take literally: “17. Zion shall not be moved out of her place, notwithstanding her children are scattered. 18 They that remain, and are pure in heart, shall return, and come to their inheritances, they and their children, with songs of everlasting joy, to build up the waste places of Zion--“ In the deepest pockets of my heart, I hope this speaks to the eternal power of temple sealings.

And then there is v 22: “Behold, it is my will that all they who call on my name, and worship me according to mine everlasting gospel, should gather together and stand in holy places.” That, to me, is a concise statement of what should comprise the essentials of my daily life. When things are going well, my prayers can become shorter and less frequent—which is the very thing that should wake me up! Say I have a deep friendship with someone, so deep that I know they can help me with my most troubling problems, and they do. Does that mean that I never seek them out until my next round of deepext problems? That very behavior would do much to errode a friendship. The way to build a friendship, is to seek each other out in the good times and in the bad times and in the in-between times. For that is when we come to know all the facets of one another. It is important to share our sorrows with one another, but also important to share our joys with one another. The Lord is the one friend who WILL NEVER LEAVE US, and the only thing He requires of us is to call upon Him. What a beautiful lesson on relationships—relationships with my Father in Heaven, as well as my family and as my friends. I think I must get busy and make some corrections in my daily activities.
